Chapter Twenty-Two

“What’s this?” Meghan asked when she spied the large garment bag suspended on a hook on Alex’s side of their giant wardrobe room. The bag was enormous. Like wedding dress enormous. Strange thing for a man, right?

She crossed the room and reached for the zipper only to have her hand blocked by a large object. A large human object.

“Alex!” she cried. “What the hell?”

Her wicked mate gave her his signature grin, and she would swear that her panties started to disintegrate from a combo of heat and arousal. Good lord!

“Now, now. None of that. Off-limits, understand?”

Stomping her foot like a petulant child, she went straight from reasonable to whining vixen. “But I want to see, baby,” she pouted when she turned and plastered against him. Clutching his shirt, she pleaded, “Pleease!”

Alex chuckled. The rumble came from deep in his chest and sounded sexy as fuck. He asserted his dominance by grabbing a handful of her ass and pulling her in even closer. She did not miss the firm imprint of his manliness when it pressed into her soft flesh.

“Behave, madam.” The devilish glint in his eyes almost distracted her, and then he got her full attention. “In light of recent events, I’m considering re-instating a behavior system—with modifications,” he added.

What? He wanted to fire up their demerit scheme? She was totally fine with that! Hell, Meghan was more than fine.

“What sort of modifications?” she asked. When Alex smirked and squeezed her ass, she blushed at the realization that she never even blinked at the naughty suggestion.

“Well,” her Beast growled, “I’m open to indulging you, so what if we make the first modification lady’s choice? I take it from your enthusiasm that you have something in mind.”

Toying with the buttons on his shirt, she leaned into him and squirmed a bit because she really was thinking. Chewing on her lip, she thought about their previous point structure, and a brilliant suggestion formed in her mind.

Alex always responded to her respectful submission, so she answered quite pithily, but in an obviously deferential way, and stated her case.

First, she acknowledged his dominance—her mama didn’t raise a fool!

“Since I have a rebellious, misbehaving streak, I think we should keep the demerits.” Her tone was bold yet compliant. Handing him control was one of the easiest things she’d ever done. When it was right, it was right.

Her ass was summarily swatted a second before her demanding husband leaned in and bit her neck. “You need a strong hand, Mrs. Marquez.”

“That, I do,” she solemnly agreed. “Which brings me to this. Not an accommodation, mind you,” she quickly blurted out, “but more like a humble suggestion for my lord and master to consider.”

As expected, her studly husband roared with sexy laughter. “Humble suggestion?” He chuckled and tugged on a lock of her hair. “You are good, Meghan. Continue, please.”

“Maybe in addition to points, you could do a tier system for my punishments.” She deliberately reeled in his interest by suggesting a system. Alex loved systems of any kind.
